Winarch Property is progressing with its $235 million redevelopment of the Morisset Golf Course, a project that promises to transform Lake Macquarie into a hub for community and entertainment. Spanning 90 hectares, this ambitious development will feature a custom-designed dome amphitheatre, vibrant dining and leisure precincts, and Australia’s largest aquatic play park.
Head of Winarch Live, Ewen Craig said the unique amphitheatre, that could one day host the likes of Pink or Paul McCartney, is completely made-to-order.
“This is a 100 per cent bespoke design, there’s not another ampitheatre definitely in Australia, even Asia, and potentially we’re still looking at whether this is the biggest ampitheatre in the world,” he told the Newcastle Herald.
“The full size of the structure was designed around a Hercules stage, which if you look at the shows that have recently played McDonald Jones Stadium like Elton John, Paul McCartney and Pink, they all use that style of stage. It’s big enough to handle all of those mega-shows.”
The development also reimagines the former golf clubhouse into a family-friendly community precinct with cafes, restaurants, gardens, and an expansive water splash park, creating a destination for both locals and tourists.
Beyond the entertainment value, the project delivers substantial economic benefits, generating 1,124 construction jobs, 475 permanent positions, and contributing $167 million to the local economy.
Morisset’s strategic location, just an hour from Sydney and offering exceptional access to the M1 and major rail links, positions it as a key economic growth area within Lake Macquarie. Winarch Property’s investment strengthens the region’s potential, driving development and solidifying its place as a vibrant, connected community.
Winarch is proud to lead this groundbreaking project, setting a new benchmark in property development and enriching the future of Morisset.
